Baseball Recap: South Plantation Gets the Win

After losing to Pompano Beach the last time they met, South Plantation decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The South Plantation Paladins came out on top against the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Paladins.

Mark Aschenbrenner was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Gollan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Aschenbrenner wasn't the only one working in the home run department: South Plantation lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win got South Plantation back to even at 6-6-1. As for Pompano Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, South Plantation will head out to face off against Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pompano Beach, they will look to defend their home field on March 19th against Cypress Bay at 5:30 p.m.
