Softball Game Preview: Hayfield Vikings vs. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers

The Hayfield Vikings will face off against the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hayfield is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Hayfield managed to slip by Plainview-Elgin-Millville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings lost 9-3 to the Bulldogs on Monday.

Rutledge is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Meanwhile, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown didn't have quite enough to beat Cleveland on Monday and fell 4-2.

Hayfield took their victory against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-1 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Buccaneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
