Basketball Recap: Sulphur Bluff Victorious

The third road matchup was the charm for Sulphur Bluff, as they earned their first road win of the season. They secured a 48-42 W over the Fannindel Falcons on Tuesday. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 69-53 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Fannindel still got an impressive performance from Kor'Ziareona Aubrey, who almost dropped a double-double on 32 points and nine steals. That was a full 76.2% of Fannindel's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Korshonti Aubrey, who put up four points and 12 rebounds.

Sulphur Bluff picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 5-9. As for Fannindel, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-9.

Sulphur Bluff will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Saltillo at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Fannindel will take on Varsity Opponent in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
