Softball Recap: Fort Lauderdale Has No Trouble Against Mcarthur

Fort Lauderdale won the last time they faced McArthur and things went their way on Monday too. Everything went the Fort Lauderdale Flying L's way against the McArthur Mustangs as the Fort Lauderdale Flying L's made off with a 15-3 win. Considering the Flying L's have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kylie Keenan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Fort Lauderdale got a massive performance out of Quinn McFadden, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. What's more, McFadden posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isaballa Coleman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Fort Lauderdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fort Lauderdale has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. McArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Fort Lauderdale will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cypress Bay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for McArthur, they will venture away from home to face off against Everglades at 6:30 p.m. on March 17th.
