Baseball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

The matchup between Springfield and White House on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Yellow Jackets lost 16-3 to the Blue Devils. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Kason Woodson and Hunter Goodfred stepped up to the plate in a big way. Woodson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one double, while Goodfred went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Woodson has hit this season. Keegan Fox was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Springfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for White House, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: White House beat Springfield by a score of 11-1 later that day.
