Soccer Game Preview: Davis Sr. vs. Turlock

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils will take on the Turlock Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Davis Sr. is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Franklin get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Given Davis Sr.'s advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked third, while Franklin are ranked 31st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Turlock had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Trojans. Turlock wouldn't have won without Keegan Pires, who scored the game-winner.

Turlock's win bumped their record up to 14-3-4. As for Davis Sr., their victory bumped their record up to 16-1-3.

Davis Sr. came up short against Turlock when the teams last played back in February of 2017, falling 2-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
