Effingham entered their tilt with Teutopolis on Tuesday with ten consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 11. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wooden Shoes, sneaking past 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-3 two weeks ago.

Saige Althoff made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Ryley Engel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Madi Kirk, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Effingham's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Teutopolis, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Effingham will face off against St. Anthony at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Teutopolis, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Robinson at 4:30 p.m. The Maroons will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wooden Shoes surely won't give up without a fight.
