Baseball Game Preview: Adrian Maples vs. Jackson Vikings

For the second straight game, Adrian will face off against Jackson. The Maples will be playing at home against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Adrian will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Adrian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Jackson on Monday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. With that win, the Maples brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Abram Marlatt made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Marlatt was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Adam Parker and Luke Bruggeman did most of the damage at the plate: Parker scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5, while Bruggeman scored three runs and stole six bases while going 1-for-1. Those five runs gave Parker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon DeKeyser, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Adrian's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Jackson, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
