Basketball Recap: Riley Thomas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Badger over Pymatuning Valley

Badger lost against Pymatuning Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Badger Braves fell 54-43 to the Pymatuning Valley Lakers.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Riley Thomas, who posted 11 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Miller, who scored ten points and three steals.

Pymatuning Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoey Painter, who had 15 points and three steals. Painter has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Paul, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.

Badger's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Pymatuning Valley, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Badger will face off against Grand Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Grand Valley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three matchups. As for Pymatuning Valley, they will square off against Mathews at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
