Basketball Game Preview: St. Elizabeth Hornets vs. Northwest Mustangs

The St. Elizabeth Hornets will challenge the Northwest Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Elizabeth will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Friday, St. Elizabeth humbled Eugene with a 58-12 victory. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Northwest hadn't done well against Leeton recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Northwest came out on top against Leeton by a score of 46-37. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 367th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Elizabeth pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points over those games. As for Northwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.
