Football Game Preview: Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton Bearcats vs. Fairfield Mules

Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton is 0-10 against Fairfield since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bearcats will head out on the road to square off against the Mules at 7:00 p.m. Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton will be strutting in after a victory while Fairfield will be coming in after a defeat.

Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Carmi-White County, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bearcats claimed a resounding 48-14 win over the Bulldogs. The Bearcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Fairfield came up short against Flora on Friday and fell 28-20. The contest marked the Mules' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.5 points over those games. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton took a serious blow against Fairfield when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 68-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bearcats were down 44-7.
