Basketball Recap: Lawndale Comes Up Short

After flying high against Centennial last Monday, Lawndale came back down to earth. The Lawndale Cardinals were outmatched by the Leuzinger Olympians and fell 79-49. The Cardinals have struggled against the Olympians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Leuzinger had a senior duo take command as Joshua Garland dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds and Malachi Knight dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The game was Garland's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aiden Mcintyre, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.

Lawndale's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Leuzinger, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Lawndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leuzinger, they will take on Culver City at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Leuzinger's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
