Baseball Game Preview: Kimball Jaguars vs. Chavez Titans

The Kimball Jaguars will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Chavez Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Kimball will be strutting in after a victory while Chavez will be coming in after a loss.

It was a proper cat-fight when Kimball challenged Weston Ranch on Monday. Kimball walked away with a 5-1 win over Weston Ranch. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

James Isler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Isler was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Dawson Pelech was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddox Ahuero, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Chavez lost 13-2 to Millennium on Wednesday. The Titans have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Chavez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francisco Rodriguez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Joesph Baltazar also deserves some recognition as he hit his first hits of the season.

Kimball's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Kimball took their win against Chavez in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 14-1. Does Kimball have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chavez turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
