Recap: Queen's Grant Stallions vs. South Charlotte T Thunder
After flying high against the Apprentice Academy Red Wolves last Friday, the Queen's Grant Stallions came back down to earth. Queen's Grant ended up on the wrong side of a tough 85-60 walloping at the hands of South Charlotte T on Tuesday. Queen's Grant was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-24.
Despite the loss, Queen's Grant still got an impressive performance from Garrett Morgan, who scored 26 points along with eight assists and five steals. Morgan is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Darian Nhek, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Charlotte T to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Rullo, who scored 21 points. Rullo has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Aaron Hill was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven assists.
Queen's Grant's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-8. As for South Charlotte T, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-8.
Queen's Grant will head out on the road to take on Carolina International at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Carolina International focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Wednesday. As for South Charlotte T, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greater Cabarrus S at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Greater Cabarrus S is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
