Volleyball Game Preview: Pueblo Central Wildcats vs. Denver Christian Thunder

The Pueblo Central Wildcats will take on the Denver Christian Thunder in a tournament on Saturday. Denver Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pueblo Central, who comes in off a win.

Pueblo Central had won three straight home games and Ashlynn Saenz did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Wildcats put the hurt on Pueblo South with a sharp 3-0 win with plenty of help from Saenz, who had six digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served four or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pueblo Central took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-4, 25-14, 25-3.

Meanwhile, Denver Christian came up short against Stargate School last Thursday and fell 3-1.

Denver Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-22.

Denver Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Pueblo Central, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-4.

Pueblo Central suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Denver Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
