Basketball Recap: Mount Dora Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Mount Dora Christian Academy lost against South Lake back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs were dealt a 68-39 loss at the hands of the South Lake Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 29 points.

Despite the loss, Mount Dora Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Luke Deininger, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds. Deininger has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Landon Marenco was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

It was another big night for Isaiah Pina, who shot 6-for-9 from deep and dropped a double-double on 31 points and 16 boards for South Lake. That makes it four consecutive games in which Pina has scored at least a third of South Lake's points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Pina, who posted six points along with nine boards and six assists.

Mount Dora Christian Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3. As for South Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Mount Dora Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-60 victory against Northside Christian on the 14th. As for South Lake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 84-55 win against East Ridge on the 13th.
