Football Game Preview: Montgomery Central Timberwolves vs. Randleman Tigers

Montgomery Central hasn't had much luck against Randleman recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Timberwolves will challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Montgomery Central's defense has only allowed 13.8 points per game this season, so Randleman's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Montgomery Central's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-0 victory over High Point Central. The Timberwolves' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Montgomery Central, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Zach Stancil, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Randleman waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Yellowjackets 21-19.

Montgomery Central better keep an eye on John Kirkpatrick. He was instrumental in Randleman's win, throwing for 284 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 61 yards and one score. Those 61 rushing yards gave Kirkpatrick a new career-high.

Montgomery Central now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Randleman, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-2.

Montgomery Central took a serious blow against Randleman in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, falling 47-7. Can the Timberwolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
