Softball Recap: Mountain Ridge Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Mountain Ridge had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Westlake Thunder by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Sentinels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sydney Lambert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tatyana Toala, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kelli Christiansen was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Mountain Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westlake only posted a batting average of .125.

The win (which was Mountain Ridge's fourth in a row) raised their record to 23-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Westlake, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-8.

As of now, neither Mountain Ridge nor the Thunder have any future games scheduled.
