Softball Recap: Bay City Blackcats vs. El Campo Ricebirds
Bay City had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 8-18 to make it four. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the El Campo Ricebirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ricebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 back in March.
Danielle Maldonado and Ameryce Jacques stepped up to the plate in a big way. Maldonado went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Jacques went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.
As for El Campo, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 19-6-1 record this season. The victory was nothing new for El Campo as they're now sitting on three straight.
