Baseball Game Preview: Stuart Hall Knights vs. Lick-Wilmerding Tigers

For the second straight game, Stuart Hall will face off against Lick-Wilmerding. The Knights will be playing at home against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Stuart Hall is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

On Tuesday, Stuart Hall got the win against Lick-Wilmerding by a conclusive 15-3. Considering the Knights have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryder Anderson and Max Machle made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Anderson struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Meanwhile, Machle pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Anderson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Anderson went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Machle went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Machle has hit this season.

In other batting news, William Malko was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Geno Putt was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Lick-Wilmerding and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Stuart Hall, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
