Baseball Game Preview: Buna Cougars vs. Anahuac Panthers

For the second straight game, Buna will face off against Anahuac. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Buna Cougars face off against Anahuac Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buna has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Buna fell victim to Anahuac and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 16-0. The shutout was out of character for the Cougars seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

For Anahuac's part, the team relied heavily on Logan Trotter, who scored four runs while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave Trotter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oscar Garza, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Anahuac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory snapped Anahuac's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-12-1 record. As for Buna, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
