With a playoff win on the line, Gilmer County rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Calhoun Red Devils 71-32. The Titans pushed the score to 55-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils had no chance of recovering from.

Despite the loss, Calhoun still got an impressive performance from Brennen Carpenter, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 15 points. That was a full 46.9% of Calhoun's points, marking the fifth time in a row Carpenter has posted more than a third of the team's points. Cooper Morris was another key player, putting up seven points.

The victory snapped Gilmer County's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-16 record. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Calhoun, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Gilmer County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 86-49 defeat against Tug Valley on the 7th. Calhoun does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
