Softball Recap: Angleton's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Angleton blew Texas City out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Texas City got their revenge. Angleton fell just short of Texas City by a score of 3-1. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Kadeyn Patin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024.

Even though they lost, Angleton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Texas City struck out eight times.

Angleton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for Texas City, their record now sits at 11-7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Angleton is set to take on their familiar foe Iowa Colony at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Texas City will challenge rival Ball at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
