Recap: Animas Panthers vs. Reserve Mountaineers
The Animas Panthers were the 51-38 winner over the Reserve Mountaineers when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Animas fell to Reserve 48-42. Animas has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Animas still got an impressive performance from Journey Sheehan, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Sheehan hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Laikyn Davenport, who scored 11 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Animas' loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Reserve, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Animas will be playing at home against Magdalena at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Magdalena is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Reserve, they will head out on the road to challenge Quemado at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Quemado is ranked 55th, while Reserve is ranked 74th).
