Baseball Recap: Bay Find Success

Bay came out on top against Rocky River on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Rockets walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Pirates. This was payback for the Rockets, who suffered a 9-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ben Schrock and Andrew Liatti dominated on the mound. Schrock pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Liatti struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Schrock has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Bay got a massive performance out of Ethan Sedivec, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Chase Prudhoe was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bay's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Rocky River, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Coming up, Bay will be playing at home against Midview at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rocky River, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lakewood at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Rangers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
