Basketball Recap: Hazelwood Central Comes Up Short

Hazelwood Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hazelwood East Spartans. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in December of 2018.

Hazelwood Central now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Hazelwood East, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
