Baseball Recap: Morgan Township Comes Up Short

Morgan Township lost against Portage back in May of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cherokees fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Cherokees have lost by just one run.

Cal Lemmons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Clint Lemmons also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Morgan Township and nudges their season record down to 1-3-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Portage, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Indians beat Morgan Township by a score of 4-0 later that day.
