Game recap: Mead High School Football Team defeats Skyline

LONGMONT, Colo. - Mead (Longmont, Colo.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Skyline (Longmont, Colo.), 38-6, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Kyle Couch in the first quarter, the Maverick led 24-0 at the half.

Mead grew its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Griffin Nelson to John Brady.

Skyline's lone touchdown came on a 26-yard pass from Josh Angstead to Benny Jacobs in the fourth quarter.

The Maverick had given up an average of 10.2 points prior to the contest. The six points that the Falcons ended with were well below their average of 21.0 coming into the game.



Mead got revenge for last year's 33-28 loss to Skyline with the victory.

The loss was the third in a row for SHS.

Mead (7-0) will play a 3A Tri-Valley game against Silver Creek next week, while Skyline (2-5) will take on Berthoud also in a 3A Tri-Valley game.
