Soccer Game Preview: Diboll vs. Madisonville

The Diboll Lumberjacks will head out on the road to take on the Madisonville Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Diboll's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Diboll's offense. They came up short against Palestine on Wednesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Lumberjacks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 630th, while the Wildcats are ranked 283rd).

Meanwhile, Madisonville waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Panthers onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one goal.

Madisonville's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Diboll, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
