Football Game Preview: Hersey Huskies vs. Buffalo Grove Bison + Official Tickets

Hersey is 7-2 against Buffalo Grove since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Huskies will square off against the Bison at 7:30 p.m. Hersey knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Buffalo Grove likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Hersey humbled Elk Grove with a 54-14 victory. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Grenadiers: they've now won nine in a row.

Hersey relied on the efforts of Jake Nawrot, who threw for 178 yards and four TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes, and Brandon Jenkins, who gained 110 total yards and four touchdowns. Jenkins also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Josh Riggs also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hersey's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Spiro Zarafonitis was the leader with two. Jenkins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Rolling Meadows, falling 59-27. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Mustangs are ranked 94th).

Hersey's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Buffalo Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Hersey against Buffalo Grove in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-7 victory. In that game, the Huskies amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
