Basketball Game Preview: Maryvale Panthers vs. Cesar Chavez Champions

Maryvale hasn't had much luck against Cesar Chavez recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Maryvale Panthers will host the Cesar Chavez Champions at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Cesar Chavez will be up against a hot Maryvale squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went Maryvale's way against Browne on Thursday as Maryvale made off with a 72-50 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Bruins are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez got the win against South Mountain on Friday by a conclusive 80-56. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Champions.

Maryvale has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Cesar Chavez, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
