Mariposa County never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Sierra Chieftains, posting a 40-0 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Grizzlies, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Mariposa County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rusty Bull, who rushed for 88 yards and one TD on only six carries. Bull got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Austin Battles, who rushed for 60 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mariposa County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Mariposa County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Laten Butler and Lyell Marcis were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Butler got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mariposa County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Sierra, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mariposa County will take on Gustine at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra, they will face off against Tranquillity at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
