Baseball Recap: Estero Takes a Loss

Estero lost against Island Coast back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Estero Wildcats fell just short of the Island Coast Gators by a score of 6-5.

Estero saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sandro Hernandez, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Hernandez has posted since back in April of 2024. Trevor Jones also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Estero's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Island Coast, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Estero and Island Coast should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Estero will challenge Cypress Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 286 places (155 vs. 441). Estero is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season. Similarly, Island Coast (ranked 35th) will meet Fort Myers (ranked 156th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
