Tom Bean posted their closest victory since May 18, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chisum Mustangs, sneaking past 10-9. The Tomcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Ryan DeArmond made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. DeArmond was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Stratton, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Cash Linder was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Tom Bean kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Tom Bean is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Chisum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Tom Bean will host Ector at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.46 runs per game on average), something the Tomcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chisum, they are taking a road trip to square off against Commerce at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
