Baseball Recap: Sierra Victorious

Sierra got themselves on the board against Yosemite on Friday, but Yosemite never followed suit. They came out on top against the Badgers by a score of 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Chieftains in their matchups with the Badgers: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Wyatt Young's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Sierra's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Micah Goodman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Goodman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Zack Thiele, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Sierra's record now sits at 17-5. As for Yosemite, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Sierra wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-8 victory against Fresno Christian on the 29th. As for Yosemite, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-3 win against Riverdale on the 28th.
