Basketball Recap: St. Clairsville Takes a Loss

St. Clairsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Martins Ferry Purple Riders, falling 75-25. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 704th, while the Purple Riders are ranked 184th).

St. Clairsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Martins Ferry, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cambridge the next time they take the court. Martins Ferry will head out to face Cambridge at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, while St. Clairsville will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
