Baseball Game Preview: Holly Hill Academy Raiders vs. Orangeburg Prep Indians

The Holly Hill Academy Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Orangeburg Prep Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Holly Hill Academy made easy work of Andrew Jackson Academy and carried off a 13-5 victory. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Orangeburg Prep entered their tilt with Clarendon Hall on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Saints. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon Kuck and Charlie McCutchen did most of the damage at the plate: Kuck scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while McCutchen scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Morrison Burroughs also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Orangeburg Prep pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Holly Hill Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
