Softball Recap: Flowing Wells Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Flowing Wells hadn't done well against Vista Grande recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Caballeros walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Caballeros: when they faced off against the Spartans last Friday, they had to take a 12-2 defeat.

The team relied heavily on Yesenia Solano, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Scholer, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Flowing Wells kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Flowing Wells pushed their record up to 11-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Vista Grande, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Flowing Wells wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against Desert View on the 1st. As for Vista Grande, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Canyon del Oro at 4:00 p.m. on the 7th.
