Basketball Recap: Ravenswood Red Devils vs. Hurricane Redskins
Make it ten blowout wins for the Ravenswood Red Devils this season. Everything went their way against Hurricane on Monday as Ravenswood made off with a 64-42 win. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Ravenswood did.
Hadleigh McGoskey continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ravenswood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Wratchford, who scored 13 points.
Rylyn Bielinski and Alexandra Anderson certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Bielinski dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while Anderson dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Kendall Anderson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hurricane smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Ravenswood has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Hurricane, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ravenswood will take on the Irish at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Hurricane, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
