Basketball Recap: Oliver Springs Takes a Loss

Oliver Springs was the 64-58 winner over Jellico when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Oliver Springs Bobcats were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 42-41 to the Jellico Blue Devils. The Bobcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Jellico found their leader in sophomore Kendall Osborn, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Savannah Lay, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Oliver Springs' record now sits at 4-19. As for Jellico, with the victory, they broke their 19-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-20.

Oliver Springs has already played their next contest (against Maryville Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jellico will face off against Wartburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Considering Jellico has lost nine straight at home and Wartburg Central six straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
