Volleyball Recap: Christian Learning Center Mustangs vs. Center Place Golden Eagles
Christian Learning Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Center Place Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-1 defeat two weeks ago.
Christian Learning Center started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-18, 25-21.
Blair Felt paced Christian Learning Center's offense, picking up six kills. Felt got some help from Stepheni Castleberry and her 18 assists. Holly Cain controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Center Place to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zoe Brown, who had seven digs and two aces. Those seven digs gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadlee Hakes, who had nine kills and six digs.
Christian Learning Center's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Center Place, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1-1.
Christian Learning Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against El Dorado Christian on the 30th. As for Center Place, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Varsity Opponent on the 27th.
