Softball Recap: O'connor Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for O'Connor, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Coronado Dons a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Raegan Holtorf was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Zoey Kuhl was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

O'Connor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

The win got O'Connor back to even at 3-3. As for Coronado, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

O'Connor wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-2 victory against Los Alamitos on the 7th. Coronado will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Shadow Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on March 21st. One thing working in Shadow Mountain's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
