Baseball Recap: May River Victorious

May River won the last time they faced Chesnee and things went their way on Friday too. The Sharks walked away with a 5-2 win over the Eagles.

Kollin Sanchez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025.

At the plate, Noah Guthrie was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jorden Reid, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

The victory got May River back to even at 1-1. As for Chesnee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Coming up, May River will head out to take on Gilbert at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Chesnee, they will be playing at home against Spartanburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 3.9, the Vikings 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
