Volleyball Recap: Powell Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Mountain View

Powell faced Mountain View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Buffalos by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffalos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

Kaedenze Carter paced Powell's offense, picking up 13 kills. Carter got some help from Leah Graham and her 32 assists. Finally, Hali Hancock kept Powell's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Powell's loss dropped their record down to 15-12-1. As for Mountain View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11-1 record this season.

Powell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Lander Valley on the 11th. As for Mountain View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Cody on the 11th.
