Football Game Preview: Arcata Tigers vs. Hoopa Valley Warriors + How To Watch

Arcata is 8-2 against Hoopa Valley since November of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Arcata has given up an average of 44 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Arcata is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat McKinleyville 62-34. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Luke Lemke had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 431 yards and seven scores while picking up 18.7 yards per carry. Those 431 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Duuya Smith, who rushed for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Arcata was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 651 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 170 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Hoopa Valley fell victim to Ferndale and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 73-0 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The Warriors have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Hoopa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Arcata, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Arcata against Hoopa Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-6 victory. In that contest, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 41-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
