Recap: Crossett Eagles vs. Nashville Scrappers

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Crossett Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nashville. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Max Brooks, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns. Taylin Paskel also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Leading Nashville to victory were Dj Jefferson and Tre Hopkins. Jefferson rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Hopkins gained 123 total yards and three touchdowns. Hopkins has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last six times he's played. Jamarion Conway was another key contributor, rushing for 57 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Another reason for the win was Nashville's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Crossett's QB won't forget Zaccheus Harris anytime soon given Harris sacked him twice.

This is the second loss in a row for Crossett and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Nashville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Crossett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nashville will head out on the road to face off against Central Arkansas Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Central Arkansas Christian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
