Volleyball Recap: Pembroke Pines Charter Find Success

It was a proper cat-fight when Pembroke Pines Charter faced off against West Broward on Friday. The Jaguars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bobcats. For the Jaguars, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Pembroke Pines Charter was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 15-11.

Elier Gil had a dynamite game, getting 28 digs and two assists. Those 28 digs gave him a new career-high.

West Broward lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alfonso Acosta, who had 18 digs.

Pembroke Pines Charter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for West Broward, they dropped their record down to 7-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
