Sweeny comes up short despite Cameron Alexander's dominant performance

The Sweeny Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-42 walloping at the hands of Magnolia.

When it comes to explaining why Sweeny lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Alexander. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Alexander continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Warrick Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.

Sweeny's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Magnolia, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Sweeny won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mineral Wells at 9:00 a.m. on December 30, 2023. Mineral Wells is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. Magnolia and Bridgeland will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bridgeland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
