Notre Dame Academy piles up the points against St. Edmund Prep

Recap: Notre Dame Academy Gators vs. St. Edmund Prep Eagles

The Notre Dame Academy Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season. They breezed by St. Edmund Prep on the road to the tune of 51-23. Given Notre Dame Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while St. Edmund Prep is ranked 244th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sabrina Kraker was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Sweeney, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Despite the defeat, St. Edmund Prep had strong showings from Cadence Coffey, who scored four points along with nine rebounds, and Aibhlinn Reyes, who scored four points along with seven rebounds. Coffey set a new season high mark in blocks with two.

Notre Dame Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for St. Edmund Prep, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Notre Dame Academy will be home for the holidays to greet St. Joseph Hill Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph Hill Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. St. Edmund Prep will be home for the holidays to greet Moore Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Moore Catholic is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66 points per game.
