Baseball Recap: Silver Stage Takes a Loss

Silver Stage extended their losing streak to 11 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-20 in the process. They lost 10-0 to the Pershing County Mustangs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Pershing County, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-16. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

For Pershing County's part, Tyler Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Miller has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Pershing County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 6-16 otherwise.

In other batting news, Pershing County let Logan Hunt and Jacob Henderson run wild. Hunt went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Henderson went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Henderson has posted since back in March. Landon Fitzpatrick also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

While Silver Stage had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
